A challenge for December

November 23rd, 2011
My followers know that I'm a bit of a compulsive challenge-doer (been doing them non-stop since May) as they keep me motivated. December is the last full month left in my first 365, and being busy season I think I might need extra motivation, so here's my latest challenge idea. I've made it a bit festive in case anyone else wants to join in :)

I've tried to make it reflective, with most of the words being opposites or pairs. A few are 'wildcards' which are on their own, and which you can slot in wherever you want through the month. I know that different people celebrate different things at different times, so hopefully the wildcards let you include appropriate pics at times to suit you :)

@alia_801 Ok, after I was certain I didn't want to do another month long challenge- this one looks like it'd be fun! There's a lot more lee-way with this, so, I'll probably join in- but did I miss your squares???
November 23rd, 2011
this sounds fun... I'm way too unreliable to promise anything but I'll give it a go :) thanks!

Sounds good.
November 23rd, 2011
@alia_801 - are we starting on 1st December? This will be challenging. :) Can't wait!

@olivetreeann I ended up just using square crops, rather than squares as the target for each pic - still quite a challenge in some cases as it changes the whole composition... (after 6 months of fixed photo options I wanted a bit more flexibility in subject matter so I looked at the format instead - I knew this month was going to be a bit challenging in areas outside 365 too).

@izzymathie Just join in whenever you like :)

@miley89 Cool!

@nicolecampbell I designed it to start on 1st Dec, with enough targets for each day in the month, but it's up to you if you want to get a head start :)

hi! I'm rathr new to the 365 (I'm around day 50) and, so far, my insopiration has been mostly driven by... nothing! so I might give this a go (no promises though)... It's something I promised myself I would do: try to follow the wave... let's see what happens. BTW: I like your list of ideas

@woot Welcome to 365! I hope you're having fun so far. I started to run out of steam after a few months and found challenges were a good way to keep going as they took some of the 'finding something to photograph' out of it and just let me be creative. Feel free to join in with as much or as little of the challenge as you like :)
November 23rd, 2011
@alia_801 thank you! I'm thoroughly enjoying 365 and I have to admit it is not easy to just go to work with the camera and manage to shot something decent every day...
I have my ups and down and sometimes feel like it's mission impossible to get to the end:)
Having a "plot" sounds like should help to narrow down the problem. I like the fact that you get the possibility of doing a shots you probably would never do otherwise

yay! i've bee looking for a good challenge (it's been a while since my last)
November 23rd, 2011
@alia_801 You must have read my mind. So out of ideas. I will give it a go. Thanks for doing this.
November 24th, 2011
@alia_801 looks like it could be fun, might try to give it a go :)

@alia_801 This sounds great! I was trying to think of something for December and was going to see if @summerfield had any ideas, as she likes themes too! You've come up with ideas for me, yay!
November 24th, 2011
Wow--now this is a cool challenge. I may just take this up
November 24th, 2011
@alia - ok, i'm tired - not understanding the challenge but keen to give it a go. What do you mean by opposites or pairs? Does it mean that you can either post the word, or it's opposite? Thanks for putting the effort into this by the way. I may just give it a go.

@leigh7900 @cookie123 @tkeen @danig @clarissajohal Glad to be of help :)

@murnane Most of the words are in pairs, so each 2 days there will be opposites (hopes/fears, colour/monochrome etc.). There are 5 wildcards that don't have opposites, which you can pop in as you feel like it :)
At least, that's how I've planned it, but as usual - your project, your rules, so do whatever works for you :)

I really enjoyed the Last time I have been with your S-challenge Ali! it was one of the highlights of my whole 365 experience and I made a lot of good friends along the way with fellow challengers, I treasured the experience. I would love to do this challenge but I had decided early this November to do a whole month of Bokeh night shots since Christmas Season here in our place is celebrated throughout the whole month of December with amazing display of lights that comes with all shapes and forms. I will pass for now but would love to joined next timeÜ thank you so much for the invitation Ali!Ü

This sounds like fun. It may help me think a little different. I am shooting my 365 of the same subject. It is a little green bottle.I knew going in it would be hard to come up with 365 different ideas for just the one lonely bottle. I have made it to 70 so far, but it has not been easy.

@shuterfly Sounds like quite a challenge you've set yourself already! We'd love it if you joined in with opposites too :)
December 27th, 2011
I am thinking I might just take your opposites challenge in January.....Lord knows that going back to work is going to break me!!!!! So as you finish up, I'll continue on with your challenge.... thanks! (in more ways than one!)
