Hi Guys!
All this week, I've taken a Christmas shot a day, with the intent of using one of them for our Christmas card this year.
I'm so very indecisive when it comes to stuff like this, so I thought I'd throw them out to you guys and have you vote for the one that you think is the best!
Thanks so much for taking the time to save my sanity ;)
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6. ....not a conventional Christmas but still warm and fuzzy
trying to look at this from a non 365 perspective. How many of your friends will be impressed by bokeh is the question
Ultimately I would pick one and then two to send out to my guests.
but here or all my thoughts.
I would like to get 2 the most (more winter, less christmas)
4 will make most people happy.
I really like number 1 for its brightness
I would not pick the following because:
3 and 5 may be a bit dark for the printer to get right (I had an epic fail with the printer for my cards last year because of this)
6 may be a bit too artistic (hence why I asked if they follow you on 365)
@brumbe I played with #3 forever to get it a bit brighter but it wasn't happening. (needs a re-shoot with better light) I agree both are a bit dark. As for the bokeh, I'm not too worried who will be impressed, I'm just after which one is the most appealing to the most people!
These are wonderful - I'm quite in awe and wish I could do just one half as good!
I love them all and have been back several times trying to choose and I can't.
2 and 5 are gorgeous and traditional but I also love 1 and 3 for something more unusual! That's it.......I can't narrow it down more :)
Oh crap - now I have to actually pick one and I LOVE them all! If I were absolutely forced to pick one, I'd say number 2, but I had to make my Mom come and help decide:)
They are all so good. I am terrible when it come to choosing my own photos. I really like the POV and feel of 3. The bokeh is wonderful as well. The socks give that warm and fuzzy feeling of the chilly holiday season.
2 or 5 as they reflect the Christmas theme you were trying to capture. Good luck, it is hard choosing. I only used on object for our card but took so many different shots and it has hard picking the final one!
I don't know if this is really going to help you because we all like different things! I think you should send the one that feels best represents you- not which one you think is the best. Whichever one of the six that is what you think of first when you think of Christmas is what I'd suggest. But since you asked, my favorite is #1- but I love anything mint!!
THEY ARE ALL AWSOME. Send them all as a Christmas card. You can do so by sending as many of your cards as possible via email in a PDF file. You can send about 10 photos with text and still have the size around 1 MB, due to the compression of pdf. The reader can enlarge the photos as wanted and they appear very high resolution when viewed. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Standard to make pdf files right out of Word, you can do so with free pdf makers like PrimoPDF. It saves a ton of work and postage costs and you can still send your favorite photo-card via snail mail to those which you do not have email addresses.
@juletee I'm going to make them. Get the photo printed at walmart for cheap, card from Michael's (craft store) photo corners (so they can keep the photo if they want to) Not too sure what it will cost me..shouldn't be too bad.
Stay tuned....going to post a photo of the finished product by the end of the week
Thanks for taking the time to look!
To Everyone!
Thank you so much for taking the time to have a look at my shots! I'm totally overwhelmed by the amount of feedback I'm getting and I have no idea how I'm going to reply to 176 people!! That will surely take me all afternoon and I'm bound to miss someone.
I'm going to post the winner in a new discussion towards the end of the week. I need time to get the photo printed and to hit Michael's for supplies.
Thanks so much....you're all so unbelievably supportive!

oh but my favourite one didn't make the final 6! I really loved Thing 1 from the 20th Nov! So, they are all great, and lots of people are saying 2, but I think 1. but really I like 'thing 1' so you know, if you change your mind.... :-)
For me, I like 2 or 5, very traditional, love the dof, overall a great feeling of Christmas, although, I would have to admit, that anyone of them would be wonderful, they are all wonderful shots.
well of all the comments I have read no one has chosen #4, which is my choice. I guess I am the odd one when it comes to pictures. I like simple and classy, rolled up into one picture. #4 to me, is simple yet classy...
haha - i like them all - but i pick #1...though it doesn't seem to be popular with anyone else - - i like it because it is different! good luck - hard choice!

(followed by #5 as a close second choice!)

I can see you're not the only one struggling to choose! :)

i really love snowmen on Christmas cards but i think 3 shows the warmth and fun of the holidays
They are all great but I always go for the non conventional one:)
