I think that for yours , you need to have the camera level with the drop, instead of slightly above... the results will look like Jenn's. Also experiment with the depth of the water....shallow water will get crowns, deeper water will get the drop coming back up.
@shadesofgrey your shots are amazing!
Thank you for your tips :) I haven't got my tripod with me, so it was dificult to hold the kamera still.
I held it just with the strap around my neck. I'm gonna try it again with my tripod (adjust the high better), also easier with the manual focus :)
Thank you, and yep, tripods make all the difference. You can always try a makeshift rest if you don't have a tripod handy...a table and some books or something similar to put the camera level with the water.
Although nowheres near a perfect water crown I like this one for the little fairy/elf formed to the right by the water!
This is another one taken the same day. Both of these were from rain hitting a plastic mat on my deck.
There are some amazing shots here..puts my 1 attempt to shame, even though it took around a 1000 shots to get one that I was semi happy to use!
Will definitely need to try this again!
Is there anything in particular you guys are doing to get the water drops like a bowl or something, or is it like pools/actual bodies of water? I would LOVE to be able to do something like this!!! Any tips you could give me would be really appreciated!!!
just spent the weekend in Iguazu Falls.. obviously I'm overflowing with water shots now. Course, looking back, I'd say water is my most repetitive subject...
I have been practicing with the water crowns, but my timing is off!! Is there anything special ya'll are doing for theses, or is it just practice, practice, practice?

procrastinating about the dishes by taking pictures instead
my 100th photo for the project
Will definitely need to try this again!
@rosemariekeeton this was just taking loads of shots trying to synchronise with the dripping tap - and a flash!
