Here are the photographic rules we've broken so far:
Rule of Thirds
Focus
Exposure
On-Camera Flash
Lens Flare
White Space
Color
Viewpoint
Portrait
This time, I want you guys to do away with your lens hoods and produce a photo that makes creative use of glare!
I am a big fan of capturing the true nature of the light in my frame. If the light is washing out the image in a hazy, warm and dreamy way, I want the camera to show it! Even if that means breaking the rules. xD
Note that this is different to lens flare - I don't want to see any actual flares (those have been done already in this challenge series) - this is more of a diffuse-glarey-light sort of challenge. :)
I couldn't find any suitable photos on google, so I'll show you a couple of mine to communicate what I'm going for:
The Fine Print:
(1) Contest begins today and ends May 27th, 2012 @ 23:59 GMT.
(2) For consideration in this contest, entries must be taken and posted during the contest period and tagged with btr-glare
(3) If you prefer NOT to use this contest as inspiration for your daily project, you may POST the photo entry to any date on your calendar, as long as the EXIF shows the capture date to be within the contest dates.
You can share your images in this discussion thread by copying the code below "SHARE" on your project photo page and pasting it in the discussion box here.
Hope you have fun with this challenge!

yay!! congrats on the win! you thought up a really fun challenge! and I looooove 'lens glare' or whatever you want to call it! yes, do away with your lens hoods!! ;) I never use mine anyways......haha!
not sure if this is what you want, or is this what you dont want....heheh either way I liked it although my "critique " partner said it had something or other wrong with it, sun glare...cant really remember what he said...hehehe
Some wonderful entries - has there been a discussion for voting? If so, I haven't seen it, so thought I would ask. Thanks for hosting this - great stuff!
@rockinrobyn not yet, so people can keep entering if they want :) I've had an extraordinarily busy week so I haven't yet had the time - but it's friday night tonight and I'll definitely have the time then!

I will see if I can do this one - I am pretty good at not doing things the way I'm suppose to lol
As per someone's suggestion. Not sure if it counts as an entry as I did not specifically set out to BTR.
this is a fun challenge :)
