What a challenge this has been! Not the most easy and therefore also not with the largest number of participants, but what a pleasure it was to me to see your photos and to discuss about the subject!
How difficult it is for me now to select a shortlist of photos on with you can vote. I gave my positive comments and critics to all of your shots, but now I have to make a selection. Here is my shortlist in random order. Please give your vote!

I thought I had a few more days to try this for the challenge, I thought I'd read somewhere this one was running Saturday to Saturday I guess I got mixed up! Oh well, maybe next time!
4 Great job, everyone! @roachling -- Following up on the above comment, I would like to make a suggestion that we lengthen the duration of the camera settings challenges -- several have come and gone without me getting around to participating, which is obviously my own fault, but there might be others who wouldn't mind a little more time, too? Just a thought, I won't be offended if you disregard it!
@rockinrobyn I guess @myhrhelper advised these terms, because in this way a challenge can be done within a week (4,5 day posting, 1 day voting, 1,5 day for new challenge).
@myhrhelper Oh, and I agree with @jannkc and @rockinrobyn. Two weeks would be great for these challenges. That would leave us two weekends to really get into it (and more time to wait for rain-free evenings ;))
1 This one did seem to come and go a little quickly....it was over before I got started, will try to be quicker next time (I always thought it was a week to enter)
@cristina3611 Christina, I understand your question. There no way available for alerting. I don't believe it always start on the same day. It also depends on how fast a challenger can be found. Just follow the latest discussions. And once you participate in one challenge, you automatically will keep up to date, because you are interested and in each challenge the dates are mentioned. Next one will start within some days.
@myhrhelper I agree with Monika. Since there's no particular time when these start and finish, can it run a little longer, and definitely over a weekend.
@smithak Great! If you could comment on the Camera settings challenge 8 - it seems like it has been disappearing from the feed because of lack of comments.

I think your suggestion makes sense. Trying a new challenge you need time to do it.
I will work on that plan. It takes time to find someone to host the challenge, and the person who agrees needs time to put it together.
