The fifth challenge is here, and it will be held on Thursday, 12 July 2012; George Eastman's 158th Birthday!
For this challenge, you must either shoot on Kodak film, or through a Kodak camera (or both!).
Several of us have been at this since the First event and it's been great! A lot of you have mentioned wanting to get back into film; well this is a great way to do it!
I put the link to the event in the first comment since I am a tard and couldn't figure out how to put it here.
Save this discussion to your favorites and post a link to your results in this thread. You can also post your favorite shots here from the 22nd!
@grizzlysghost@brumbe@beautifulthing I take the photos, I use the film but am always to slow to post for RIAD. Have a backlog of 4 rolls of 120 to scan and at least 3 rolls to develop. BTW couldn't sleep last night so bought a camera at 3am for $45. I'm thinking will blame Shelly, @chewyteeth or Aaron for this camera addiction.
@brumbe Ya, I think that would be just fine; it's all about doing something for George after all :) @beautifulthing I hear you Shelly; I'm still waiting to get mine back from the developer; should be any day now. By the time I get them scanned and posted, it will be time for #5! @peterdegraaff I'm right there with you Peter! And just so you know, I was up late last night getting myself a camera too, but got outbid by some turkey for $45! LOL Actually, I did get a camera last night too (great deal on it too I must say). You may see it here in about a week or so :)
@grizzlysghost@peterdegraaff@beautifulthing Okay, I am actually shooting photos for work this week and having a mini 365 meet up. Developing is the easy part, it is the printing out and not having near enough time in the dark room. But I found a new photo store that develops rolls and then you come in and decide which ones you want to print out or scan.
@peterdegraaff I feel a little bit guilty saying it, but it's a 1955 Nikon S2 with the 5cm f/1.4 Nikkor-S lens. It was included in a "Lot of 3 old cameras" with a starting bid of $25.00. All three cameras included their cases; the other two cameras were a Kodak Pony 135 and a Voigtlander Vitomatic I; which pale in comparison to the S2. When all was said and done, I got it for about half price! I have never actually held one of these old Nikons, so I will be pretty thrilled to find it in my post! :)
I had fun with the last one so might give this one a go too. It'll give me chance to try the 'new' Olympus OM10 with some expired Kodak film. The fact that its on a Thursday is the main challenge, as it'll be a long day at work!
@grizzlysghost Very jealous. Have been watching the Nikon S's but they usually are too expensive. Mine was the Contaflex Super BC in which the TTL meter has been tested and works, plus case, etc. have also purchased a VP Exakta. Congratulations on Nikon S. it is supposed to be better than the Leicas of the same era.
How is the old 120 Olympus going, you shot with that yet?
I can't do a thursday, I'm struggling taking pics on the weekend at the moment, never mind in the week, anyone wanna swap lives with me, I'm bored of my local enviroment - preferably someone living near a beach... Peter...?
I haven't even had the chance to develop my film from the last challenge & doubt I will be able to find Kodak film here on such short notice but will try :)
@peterdegraaff Contaflex, very cool Peter! You are getting a pretty good selection of Zeiss; now I am getting jealous :) I almost picked up a couple of magazine backs for the Contaflex a while back but missed out. That one is on my list too. And $45? You should be ashamed LOL :)
@grizzlysghost Shot a roll of 120 with Olympus Chrome Six. It's developed just waiting for new scanner to arrive. Just bought an Aires V, Yashica Minister and Zeiss Ikon Nettar. The two 35mms are working including light meters. On the first day the flying spaghetti monster said let there be light and on the seventh thought there needs to be day to rest, buy cameras and make photos
@peterdegraaff Very curious about the Aires, I've been watching them for a while; let me know how it goes! I have an old (non-working) Minister for sale on ebay right now and sold a Nettar about a week ago :) Good thing about the Nettar; it's a reliable old 120 for sure!
Of course, I should probably get my roll from the LAST round of RIAD developed first. ;)
@beautifulthing I hear you Shelly; I'm still waiting to get mine back from the developer; should be any day now. By the time I get them scanned and posted, it will be time for #5!

@beautifulthing
I think you need to google 'Bolton' before you agree to that. do I get to keep your camera collection?
Though I am sure most of you didn't get a chance to participate, here are my three rolls: (I will post my favorites in 365 shortly).
