It was pretty exciting to see not only how many people were participating in this challenge, but how excited some of you got over learning these settings! I was impressed with how well so many of you embraced the challenge and used it to advance not only your knowledge of your camera, but your skills as well to save you time in post processing.
You will have til Wednesday night (here in the eastern part of the USA since that is where I am) to vote. It was not easy to chisel this down to 5 entries. There were entries that were very difficult for me to not include in the top 5, so if one of your shots did not make this list, please don't feel bad. The 5 you'll have to vote on were selected for varying reasons. In no particular order....
1. CSC-13 by @iqscotland. I liked the toner and the careful framing, leading to a great composition with no need to crop.
2. csc-13 by @tryeveryday. I love the use of the high ISO to get the grainy "film" look, the tweak to sharpness and use of monotone
3. SOOC: a Tale of Two Trains - Part Two by @northy. upping the contrast along with the blue toner and the framing
4. Sign of the time.... by @welcometocarolworld her in camera tweaks to contrast and shooting in monochrome made this a wonderful b&w image. I agree with her comments in the description.
5. Go Straight to Jail - Do Not Collect $200 by @myhrhelper the contrast, sharpness and sepia really helped give this a haunting feel (along with the pov)
@jsw0109 thank you for including my entry in the vote - Oh I would not have wanted to be in your shoes to select the finalists. This challenge has been wonderful - i'm not done experimenting & exploring these settings and I will for sure keep them in mind. Also, sure saves editing time later if you do it in the camera.
Thank you so much for including my entry, Jeff!
