This is so great, thanks to everyone who voted for my photo in the last get tagged challenge. I still can't believe my entry just won, coz it's a last minute entry! its a hard tag combination but luckily just got a break and taken that shot.
Thanks to @katieannb for hosting the last challenge. :)
Here's how it works:
Go to the "Browse" section and then select the "By Tag" link. Close your eyes and randomly click on a tag. Do it again (and no peeking)! These two tags will become your photo assignment. You will then use your two randomly chosen tags as an inspiration to create one picture that encompasses both tags. Please CLEARLY state your two tags when you post your entries, as this will let me know what your assignment was. You may submit more than one entry.
For this challenge, if you chose a set of words that you feel it would be impossible to do anything with, rather than skip the challenge all together, you may opt for the host’s tag words of “ORANGE” and “FLOWER” (selected randomly as above).
Start of challenge: Tuesday, March 05, 2013, 11:00 AWST
End of challenge: Monday, March 11, 2013, 23:59 AWST
Voting starts: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 2013, 00:00 AWST
Voting ends: Friday, March 15, 2013 23:59 AWST
NOTE - Photos must have been taken within the challenge time frame to be considered for a vote.
The number of finalists will be chosen depending on number of entries the winner will host challenge #70.
Please remember to tag all entries as "tag-challenge-69" so that I can find them.
Please share them in this thread (optional) so everyone else can enjoy them too.
@liam_jacob I'm thinking of adding "depth" to mine, should make it easier. Then get a mirror involved? Don't know. We'll see. It'll give me something fun to think about, anyway.
I clicked 'trees' and 'rocks'. I guess I'll go stack rocks on a tree. Neighbors will think I am nuts! At least I didn't get BOKEH, that would be a bit tough given that I promised (myself) to do this all with my iPhone. - GJ
@georgej can't wait what you can come up with this set of words..
is it iphone project? :)
i was also taking photos from my iphone before i got my dslr.. i was posting the photos on instagram and FB i call them "iphonography" iphone and photography combined...then i realized that it doesn't sounds good.. lolz..
Thanks Glenn, I have a DSLR and a M4/3 camera, however I thought I could be a better student and participant if I focused (sorry for pun/not intended) on a discipline associate with a regular, routine, and unencumbered process. The best camera in the world is the one you have with you and with this new paradigm the phone/camera is a game changer. I am happy with pics I've taken over the years. but this seems like a opportunity to see different.
In the late eighties I took a Contax T2 (point/shoot) which had a great 35mm lens, to France and I still love those photos. For me this is re-learning some of that. - GJ
i sometimes too take photos from my iphone still, coz like what you say, you always have it with you, so when i see a scene or an interesting object i just pop out my phone and take a photo.. unlike the dslr, i dont really have it with me all the time coz its so huge.. :)
@debilz just go to the photo, then if you look on the bottom right of the screen.. just below the "share" window and side of "(copy and paste code)".. copy that code and just paste it here.. :)
Yeah I love my macro lens - the white thing is a mealy bug..I think! And there are ants too! I'm also from Perth - been living in QLD for 2 yrs - missing the fine weather :)
Hi Glenn + fellow entrants, I think I may be a bit unclear on the concept. As a relatively new 365 person I have few followers (one) or other connections here and thought this would be a good way to reach out. That said I don't see how folks can search the contest and weigh in, especially as relates to newcomers. Do contests only work for longtime 365 people that have many connections? Thanks for any insights. Cheers, George
@georgej Hi George, everyone can follow any & every challenge here. There are many threads but to see what challenges & themes that you can get involved in are found in the drop menu under discuss at the top of your screen - Themes & Competitions. Hope that helps
@wenbow Thanks Wendy, I will spend more time studying the mechanics of 365 and appreciate your suggestion. I can certainly learn from those with a depth of experience here like yourself. I like your photo of nature through the back of a lens, cool.
"orange" and "flower"... :)
