OK - the idea is simple - I will share a link to a RAW file, and if you want to enter, download the file, reprocess, and upload. In a weeks time we will vote on which we think is the best, and that person will then share a RAW file for uploading.
For the first round the file can be found at IMG_0560.dng
Please tag your photo RAWCOMP-1, and then on the 11th of October we will judge.
@elaine55 Clicking on the link above should now work, but it is a RAW file so you have to have software that can edit RAW files. I will give you an alternative link if that doesn't work. https://db.tt/AqIkR4Xi
@byrdlip Thanks - I want to get this off the ground as I think it would be an interesting competition. Just need a bit of support with the technical details
Some dust on the sensor along the upper right? A few spots removed quickly in this effort as well as the tonal adjustments and smoothing on the resulting sky. As with Alexis, @abirkill, a little more care on selecting the mask for the sky could have reduced the "halo" effect on the top of the treeline.
Thanks all for the response - looks like it will be popular. It is really quite freaky to see how other people interpret your own photograph. Looking forward to seeing the rest next week.
@alisonp That is so good to here - that was part of the reason I did it - it adds another dimension. I just love seeing what people are doing with my photograph. It's great for inspiration.
I want to try it too, maybe. But I don't want to upload it here. Because I upload at 365project.org only photos I shoot myself. Is it ok, if I upload somewhere else?
I have used Darktable and Gimp and tried really everything I know to get the most out of it.
Ah, now I understand the need of tags. Hope this entry is ok, if I do upload at Google Drive. So I cannot use tags for it. If this is not acceptable, then you have my apologies. And does it matter how many entries one person have?
Edit: Here is a black and white conversion from the output above.
Edit: Deleted the links. Hmm, sorry for this. Then just ignore my postings.
@wayoflife Just read your other post - it is going to get messy if we can't view them all in one place - i.e. the tags page. I would rather they be uploaded on here so that they can all be viewed together. It would become too much hassle to have to keep clicking on links, rather than viewing all in one place.
This was fun! I tried to go 'dark and spooky'.
Note: I had a filler spot back in April in my extras album, but obviously, this edit was done this week after you posted it, Ian.
@byrdlip thanks I will attempt another go at it although I am in the process of changing laptops at the moment so I may not get it done in time. Thank you for the response.
Here is my go for the challenge. I noticed quite a few dust marks .... have not edited them out as I only reprocessed rather than edited (if that makes sense!)

I'll try it tonight and let you know.
and then I played with something else called gradient, and it went b&w and I LIKED it!!
Thank you for getting me out of my rut! ~ I was considering leaving, but this has sparked my interest again :-)
@alisonp This is great also Allison!
