Artist challenge - Saul Leiter

Jase @jase_again posted a discussion thread a few days ago about the death of Saul Leiter, 1923-2013 an American photographer who took mainly colour street photos. I hadn't heard of him until then but when I looked at his work I found it very inspiring , hence choosing to make him artist for this week's artist challenge and we can find out more about him together.

For the Artist challenge either recreate one of his photos as closely as possible or use his ideas as a springboard for your own imagination, link to the photo that inspired you in your description if possible.

I would also love it if people discussed his work below and pointed to other good resources found on the web.

Dates for this challenge are from Sunday 1st December until Thursday December 12.

decided to use a photo of festival lights taken in august and overlay it with a photo of a woman reflected in a window from the same evening - then a paint effect over both

wasn't sure if i could make a photo using older shots (its ok if cant accept it kali!) but was inspired by this Festival street shot of his http://www.hackelbury.co.uk/artists/leiter/photographs.pdf to imitate - wish i could paint too!

@mzzhope I didn't. I never took it intentionally, so I figured I shouldn't. This challenge is so great to do, but I've never really done it. Next year, maybe. I love seeing what everyone does with it!!!
