So some of you might know that I love to match my photos with quotes. Some of the quotes I write, and some of the quotes I "borrow" from different sites. Someone asked me the other day if the photo came first and then the quote or vice-verse. I told them the photo comes first and then I find a quote that adds another layer to the photo . . . another element to ponder.
I thought it would be fun if we did a Quote-Tag of sorts. It's simple . . . post a photo from your collection or a new one. The person who views your photo first is responsible for coming up with a quote (or even writing one if up to the challenge) to enhance your photograph. That person then posts a photo of their own and the next person gives them a quote. Make sure to take the person in the photo so he/she knows you gifted them with a quote.
A good place to look for quotes is https://www.goodreads.com/quotes - you can put in some key words and it will pull up some wonderful literary quotes.
Let's tag all the photos as "quote-gift" so we can see them all in one place. I'm excited to see what happens and to see how long we can make this tag!
I'll start with the first photo and I can't wait to see what your "gift" is!

“A song she heard
Of cold that gathers
Like winter's tongue
Among the shadows
It rose like blackness
In the sky
That on volcano's
Vomit rise
A Stone of ruin
From burn to chill
Like black moonrise
Her voice fell still...”
― Robert Fanney
@lbluejaye8 Thanks, Laurie! Thanks for the reminder, too--I almost forgot but, I usually check my posts a couple of times just to "make sure."
Oh, I found the quote on "goodreads." I read quite a few but, the one I picked gave me chills (just like the picture).
Love this idea for a challenge!
'If you look closely at a tree you'll notice it's knots and dead branches, just like our bodies. What we learn is that beauty and imperfection go together wonderfully.'
"In a sea of marbled green and blue,
a dinghy sways gently with the lapping waves.
Ripples of you play tag with my memories
of idyllic days spent with you." (Laurie Frazier)
@voiceprintz Beautiful! I love Tennyson! Thank you for your kind comments and excitement for the thread!! :) I love your photograph - it says so much! I will let the next person gift you with a quote so we can keep this going!
@cgarner Thank you for the beautiful quote to accompany my photo! :) Fav and follow on your photo. I've found a quote but will let someone else join in the fun.
@lbluejaye8 I'm glad, Laurie, you enjoyed the quote to pair with your photo. Thanks for stopping by my 365. I appreciate the FAVs and follow! Likewise, now following you.
@cgarner This is a beautiful portrait. It reminds me of this Bible verse - 1 Corinthians 11:15 "but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her for a covering."
Here's my take on your lovely shot. (I hope I'm understanding your instructions correctly!
Although I reach to the sun above
Although my vine may die
Although the wind will grab my leaves
I shall not cease to try
For in the reach my purpose be
For in the earth my life
For in the wind a whisper be
To truly see is art

@lbluejaye8 I love words and quotes and often pair my images with a quote. What a great idea for a thread.

I cast to earth a seed,
And up there grew a flower,
That others called a weed.”
