Win. . . Place. . . and Show

March 16th, 2016
A week or two ago I was going through some of my old photos in Lightroom moving them to my external hard drive when I came upon some photos that caught my eye. These were photos I had taken that I thought were okay but were not my first choice as my photo of the day. So here is the challenge. This is just for the fun of it and to highlight some of your photos that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Go back through your old shots and find some of yours that didn't make it on to any of your Project albums. This should be the first time they are posted. Edit it if you wish or post it like it is. There are no themes or particular subjects. Just to get you to take a minute or two and look at those that didn't gain your approval on the day that you took it, but now you see something that you like and wonder how you missed it then. If you would like, post a comment as to why this wasn't your first choice and why it now appeals to you.
Tag your photos; placeandshow.
I look forward to seeing what we would have missed seeing.
No judging will take place, but please do pour on the accolades on the submissions if you see fit!
By all means post your submission here or you can see them here:

Here is one that I overlooked the first time around. On January 27th I posted another photo of a Waxwing but the more I look at this one the more it grows on me.

Cool thread Skip. Great idea. I did not have to browse for long. My Nephew S. playing at his little brothers birthday the guitar. I decided then for nephew N. playing sax. Difficult choice it was.

Hello,

I'm really new here and don't understand how to put an image in this thread if it isn't one of my Photo A Day.

Thanks,

Anne.

@onthisauldrock - Welcome to the Project Anne! You will need to upload it to a secondary album. I see that you have an ACE membership which means you have access to more than the 365 album which you need to create through your account settings. I hope this answers your question.

I took this on a rare night that I got to get out after dark. I was disappointed in my night pictures in general. I think I need to work on adding some excitement or something... (After I first posted here, I edited a bit and put it back)

@kali66 - Thank you for introducing us to Gaelynn, Kali! It is even more appropriate being that today is St. Patrick's Day!

@skipt07 Ok Skip, just one more question from this retiree. Can I upload photos to albums without any of them being photo a day images? So sorry, it just takes me a while. :-)

@onthisauldrock - No problem Anne! Many of the ACE photographers on the Project have multiple albums. Some upload to a primary album like the 365 album for their photo of the day while others might upload to different albums they have created based on the subject of their photos. Some upload one photo a day while others may upload multiple photos for various reasons. We all have different ways and reasons of organizing our albums. There is no right or wrong way. What I am looking for are people to post a photo that for whatever reason wasn't their choice for their photo of the day and now that they look back through all those photos that weren't posted before, they see something that catches their eye that didn't before. So, you dig it out, do some editing if you wish and upload it now. I suggested that you upload to a secondary album so as not to mess up your Project album if you are going to try to do a photo of the day. I hope that answers your question.

This one lost out to http://365project.org/laroque/365/2016-01-14 because that had a story and human interest.
