I'll begin by thanking @Northy for all the hard work that goes into organising Get-Pushed every week and apologising for being late in starting the Voting off.
Like my predecessor, I found it very difficult to narrow it down to five ... it's not just the quality and thought that goes into the pictures, but the accompanying stories as well that make them so interesting.
Anyway, in no particular order, here are my final five.
1. Knot by Rachel Withey. @rachelwithey Rachel's challenge was "Hidden in plain sight" - photograph something that no one usually notices, but something that is in the plain sight of people. She has not only fulfilled the brief, but adhered to her plan of staying in monochrome this year; plus the minimalist style makes the mundane interesting.
2. Glasgow Central Station by Francesca Ciarrocchi. @frappa77 Francesca's challenge was to show a portion of her day in a reflection. What drew me to this picture was the multi-layering of architecture, railway carriage, light and implied movement (although I know there isn't any). A very striking image that fits the brief perfectly.
3. minimal Ippolito by Heather Webster. @romeheather Heather's challenge was on minimalism and she deserves credit for the amount of forethought and work she put into creating this atmospheric picture.
4. The goalkeeper will be back ... by Vera. @vera365 Vera's challenge was to take a picture around the theme "forgotten". Everything about this picture appeals to the eye, the placement of the gloves, the use of negative space and the superb processing. The very personification of Forgotten.
5. McCain Auditorium back stairs by Mary Siegle. @mcsiegle Mary's challenge was to take a photograph in natural light but...use the light to advantage. She has certainly done that here, the sharp sunlight emphasising the structure0n the side of the building and the shadows leading us down to .... who knows?
I hope I've done this correctly.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the final choice will be.
