Assistance provided by @kali66 Kali - Thanks a bunch!
Gerhard Richter has a broad portfolio and we had many amazing images for this challenge! @kali66 Kali and I had to make some tough decisions for the finalists, but we did it!
Thanks to everyone who participated, and thanks in advance to everyone who votes!
Voting will start immediately and last until Wed Jan 11 at 7pm Pacific. Once the votes are tallied the winner will be posted shortly thereafter!
Good luck everyone!!!!
Here are the finalists in no particular order:
1) "Candles" series/gallery by @carolineb7 Caroline Benzies
2) "Paintwork" series/gallery by @wenbow Wendy Bowden
Really nice to see my pic in with the finalists - it is only my second go at any 'challenge'. Really hard to pick a winner as Richter's work was so varied. I'll got for No. 2 as I can't look at it without thinking of Richter's huge abstracts where he drags an equally huge squeegee across the surface to move paint around.
@wenbow@pistache you are joint winners of this challenge, you might like to collaborate on setting up the next one as Mike and I did for this or one may concede to the other, we would like to avoid a vote-off!!
@kali66@wenbow oh! just saw this. how exciting! congrats to you too wendy! well i'm just as happy for you to host, wendy. have you chosen an artist before?
@pistache wendy has hosted this challenge a few times, i think she would like you to have a go, I think that is what she was trying to sayt! let her know if you have trouble picking an artist but i am sure you are more than capable
@pistache@kali66@mikegifford Hi guys! Yes Kali that is what I meant I missed out happy in my last msg. I have done a couple of these Clare so I will leave this next one in your capable hands, have fun choosing the next artist!!!
@wenbow i think clare has a couple of other challenges to run at the moment as well... you can work it out between you i hope, if she says ok then ok "_
Hard to choose but I will go with 3
Thank you for selecting mine as a finalist.
