Abstract Sponge Winner

March 15th, 2017
Thank you to everyone who voted in the Abstract Sponge Challenge. The results are in and it was very close but I am pleased to announce that @robz won with this awesome abstract image:

The Mundane Sponge winner (@ariekraaijeveld) will choose the next theme and Rob will host the next Mundane Abstract Challenge.

Congratulations!

@nicolecampbell Hi Nicole - thank you for your message - it's a mixed feeling. I'm happy that people liked the sponge photo but a little concerned that I have no idea how to do the next step. Am I correct in saying that the two"mundane challenges" work with the same theme. The actual technological side of setting up the challenge and organizing it is a bit of mystery to me. Could you please let me know if there is a "how to.." document somewhere. Many thanks for organizing the last one - they are lots of fun.

@nicolecampbell Back again - sorry to be a nuisance. Do I just use the "Start New Topic" button in the "themes and competitions" section, use similar words to the ones you used with the same tag plus 1 to the number, and check on the entries by searching for that tag? The "voting" thing is then a "New Topic?". I think I know how to paste the finalists in - not too sure. I won't do anything until you have had a chance to tell me if this is all wrong!!! Many, many thanks. P.S.
Are the two sections usually run for the same time frame?

@robz - hi Rob, congratulations! You will need to start the next challenge once the winner of the Mundane Challenge has posted the next subject to photograph, which I think has just happened. It is Thermometer.

Go to Discuss, Themes&Competitions and then click on the New Topic button on the right hand side. I would just copy and update the text from my original post and perhaps use the tag abstract-thermometer. I would also use the same time frame as the Mundane time frame. Having said that I may have been a day off with my timings because I am in Australia. Once you are happy with the post click the start topic button at the bottom and the post will be live.

When it comes to posting the five finalists, choose the five you like the best, include their @name and click on their photo and copy the link and then paste in your thread. I find it easy to have two tabs open, one for creating the new post and one for clicking on the entries. Hopefully that makes sense.

Let me know if you have more questions. Good luck :)

@pistache @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you Clare and Jackie - your comments are much appreciated - especially as a newcomer. Lots of trial and error - and just plain luck sometimes! All very addictive. Thanks, Jackie, for a double vote!!!
