@redandwhite Congratulations, Catherine ! This win gives you the right to launch the next round of the minimal challenge and to choose the optional theme. If you need any help for this, or if you have any difficulty with it, do not hesitate to contact me. Etienne

@etienne Hi, on second thoughts, though I have hosted a challenge in the past, I have rather forgotten the procedure. Do I go to Start a New Discussion? I understand about the tags and date setting, but perhaps it would be best if you go through the thing for me. Thanks in advance!

Hello Catherine,

Here is a short summary of the challenge hosting procedure that I composed some timer ago. It might be too detailed for you, but it will refresh what you already know.

In order to host a challenge, you need to intervene three times :

1. To launch the challenge
2. To launch the voting
3. To announce the winner

Each time, you have to do the following steps :

a. Compose your text : you probably want to start from the text of a similar challenge and to modify it with the updated information. What most of us do is to work on the text off line first in Word (or equivalent), and then paste the final text in the post. However, you can also write it directly on line if you prefer.

b. In order to insert a picture from someone’s project into your text, you have to click on the curved arrow in a small box just on the right of the “Favourite” star icon under the picture and to copy the code from there into your text. The picture will automatically appear when you will actually put the post on line.

c. To start your post on line, go to “Discuss- Themes and Competition-New Topic” and then paste your text, or alternatively write it directly there. When it is ready, save it on line. Afterwards, you will still be able to edit the text if you are not happy with the way it appears on line, but you will not be able to edit the title of your post anymore.

So, practically speaking, for the Minimalist challenge, you have first to select an optional theme. Then choose a start and an end date, as well as the updated tag (Minimal-8) for the challenge. You are now ready to go : a. compose your challenge kick off text, b. put your post on line.

At the challenge end date, browse by tag to see the entries, select the finalists and decide the deadline for voting. You are now ready to go : a. compose your voting invite text, b. insert the finalist pictures and c. put your post on line.

Finally, at the end of the voting period, count the votes and then : a. compose your winner announcement text, b. insert the winning picture and c. put your post on line.

Do not hesitate if you have any further questions.

@etienne The Minimal-8 is now up and running. I found your original post for 7 and want to let you know I did some copying and pasting of your writing. Hope that is ok!
