Have you ever thought of how crazy it is that the people on this site, or photographers and artists in general can look at the same exact subject in such a different way? That we can find one object, yet the photographs that spawn from our imaginations of that exact same object are completely and totally different.
I propose a weekly challenge! Each week, on Friday, I will name an object that we all take a photo of. Then we post them on this thread and see how completely different each of us saw that object! (and of course suggestions for objects each week are COMPLETELY welcome!)
How about this week we do...*drumroll please*....A CANDLE!!
Time to play with our lighting, time to play with some fire and smoke, and get some creative shots of those candles that everyone has around their house. Think of all the photographic possibilities for this one.........I am thinking of TONS!
Let's tag this week's can "objectchallenge-candle".
@amyhughes Thank you! I had been experimenting with candles & smoke over the past couple weeks, so I was excited when I saw this week's object challenge! :)
@amyhughes The child praying photo is absolutely perfect. I love it (and may have to see if I can get my nephew to play along for a similar pic sometime)
I gotta find a few tealights but I'll get one up this week. Plus I got a new camera that should be coming in this week as well to experiment with, lol.
seems people like the shadows that come from this candle holder... & now a challenge has been set to create a photograph with just the shadows - could be interesting...

Candle Art
Ok, here's my first attempt at this. I'll post another one tomorrow.
Here's mine.
I got a joke for this one but you gotta go to the actual picture to read it.
Candle on a candle with a candle in the back. Did I mention I used candles??
