The response to this challenge has been unbelievable! I never expected this kind of response! Thank you to all who took the time to participate! When I came up with this idea I intended this to be a onetime challenge. Therefore, winners are not obligated to host other challenges. However, Wikipedia lists 15 photographs that have sold for more than one million dollars and there are other vegetables. Because of the overwhelming response, I have decided to make this into a two category challenge so as to allow for more finalists and to highlight more photographs than the normal 5-6.
The two categories will be:
1. Inspired: Which closely resembles the original.
2. Anthropomorphic: Suggesting human characteristics for inanimate objects .
Voting starts today February 5th and ends Wednesday, February 10th.
I will run these separately so as not to confuse voters.
@kali66 - I thought about doing that Kali. I have included the finalists' names in other challenges. But I am hoping that when people vote they vote for the photo based strictly on the quality of the image and not on who took the photo. That is why the photo of the potato was sold for $1,000,000 million dollars. Solely because of who the photographer was not because it was such a great photo. Last year I, along with two other people, were asked to judge a camera club's year end photo competition. We weren't told who the photographers were. We judged solely on the merit of each image.
(and thank you for including mine amongst the finalists)
