Viewed against black

Hi there!

Just wondered what it means when people say their photos look better viewed against black. It might be self explanatory, but not to me:(

@emma78 once you click on their photo to see it full on their page click on it again and it shows it against black. some photos take on a whole other life on black!

If you click on a picture twice, the captions all go away and the picture is viewed against a black background which may enhance it.
