Google Nik Collection

Total technophobe here. Trying to download Google Nik Collection without success. Do I have to have Photoshop, Lightroom or similar to be able to use it? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

@flowerfairyann They're plugins so you'll need Lightroom, Photoshop or Aperture.
Requirements are at the bottom of this page: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/

I just down loaded the Windows version and successfully loaded it into PSE 14. Shows up under filters.

@jackies365 @humphreyhippo @byrdlip Thank you for taking the time to give advice. Unfortunately I don't have Photoshop etc so think this will have to pass me by. Looked good though. Again, thank you.

@flowerfairyann Yeah, I wondered about that, too. Shoot!

@flowerfairyann I don't have any of those programs and am still able to use it but couldnt tell you how that happened to save my soul!

@flowerfairyann I thinknyou can download it still. Then if later you buy an editing program it will be there. I hope I'm right!

@flowerfairyann @alophoto It works (and works well) in GIMP, which is absolutely free. I'll try and find the link I used to get it going. Slightly (but not incredibly) geeky to do either.

@flowerfairyann @alophoto Actually, it ranks fairly high in the Geek ratings, but it DOES work. Best done during a rainy afternoon: http://bernhardhuber.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/using-niksoftware-in-gimp.html

Works well with Photoshop Elements 11.
You need to be in Expert and you can find it under
File - Automation Tools

@flowerfairyann I just realized I DO have Gimp on my computer so maybe it is working through that somehow. I am really technically challenged so I feel as if I am not much help to you.

@flowerfairyann I don't think you have to have any other programs to run it because it has its own RAW processor if I'm not mistaken (which I certainly could be!), but I can open a photo straight from their program without having to go thru any others. Keep working with it. It's an awesome program especially if you're not proficient in PS or LR.

Here's a training video on Nik: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gikVjBnpTRQ&spfreload=1#t=1645.394103
