@caterina Thank you for hosting street38, for nominating me and a big thank you to everyone who voted for my photograph and everyone who participated in any way - otherwise, there is no competition.
A big thank you to all those people on the site who have been so generous with their time and comments and encouragement. You have all helped me to begin to learn about, improve at, and enjoy, taking photographs.
I now have the honour of hosting the next Street Photography challenge, Street#39.
The allure of street photography, in particular, has proved irresistible - I think the camera gives us a view of people (and ourselves) and their lives that we either do not or maybe cannot otherwise see. I hope that everyone will give street photography a go - even if you have not tried it before.
Street photography focuses on people (not posing) or street scenes with people in them - but this can be of shadows or even of yourself. To find out more about street photography here are some helpful resources:
This competition will run from Friday 17/11/17 until Friday 30/11/17 and I will make sure to allow for differences in time zones. Photos must be taken between those dates.
Please tag your photos street-39
To keep this challenge current, and inspire other please post your photo in this thread. You can do this by left clicking on the right turning arrow at the end of the bar where the other icons are for making comments or favouriting a photograph. Then copy the text and paste it into your comments box on the Street-39 page.
I look forward to seeing some great street photographs; have fun!
@lumpiniman - thanks for posting - this is classic street photography. I don't think the embed code copied properly for you so I have posted your photograph below. I hope you do not mind
Many thanks. I still have not worked out exactly how this site works!!
John
