Please Vote Twice for the Black and White Challenge

Wow! I am so impressed with the quality of entries into this challenge. It was totally agonizing to choose out only five for each category from the 41 entries submitted by 25 members. I hemmed and hawed, changed my mind, inserted and took out so many photos that each one entered was short-listed at least once. The 365 community truly contains some talented photographers who make the job of hosting an incredibly tough one!

While back lighting can give dramatic low key shots with deep shadows, I was looking for the more subtle rim lighting with good details in the shadows. It was this criterion that I chose the five finalists in each category.

I am dividing the votes into two categories since there may be many members who do not often shoot black and white and/or who have little experience with backlighting as well as those who are more comfortable with challenging lighting and B&W photography. I do hope I have not offended anyone with their placement in their category. I tried my best by peeking at your profile and recent photos to see if you have done much b&w photography.

Please submit two votes (number and letter) in the same comment box. In the event of a tie, the ‘not so pro’ winner will have the honour of hosting the next Black and White challenge.
