Colour on Black & White??

January 4th, 2012
Hi guys, I'm new on here and am really loving it! I only have a pretty bog standard digital camera but I love to take pics!! Since finding Picnik, I enjoy editing the pics (I only have the free one) and love black & white, but can anyone tell me how do I keep the image in B&W but change something in the picture to colour? I'm stuck :(

@jennalou
Welcome to 365!
Once you click on the black and white effect on picnik you'll notice that your paint mode is set to original, once on original, all you have to do is click over the area you want to color back in. If you make a mistake and need to erase, just click your paint mode to effect and then click over the area you want erased.

Turn the image B&w, then "erase" with the brush what you want in colour!

on Photoshop, make a layer first then turn that into B&W.You'll see a white layer mask.Just erase the part you want colored with the eraser.Tadaaa

Great job!!!! its so easy when you get the hang of it, you can also zoom in to make getting around the edges easier, or you can decrease the brush size.

here is some that ive done using piknick

@jennalou
Glad to be of help. I think selective color (the black and white with a touch of color) is my favorite editing technique.
