I am having a few problems with saving photos from picnik at the moment and wonder if anyone has come across it. I edit, go to save and it and the "Save" button is greyed out on the Save to Location menu. I have tried to change location and then it hangs and crashes Safari. I am on a Macbook and have only had this issue for about a week, but as my internet access is limited it is doing my head in.
I did manage to save one photo earlier tonight, and now it is gone again:-(
I realise that I can edit via 365 as I have Ace, but I want to keep a copy of the photo so would prefer to save locally and then upload.
anyone, anyone???
Thanks in advance, I am travelling and on wireless card so will pick up the response when I can.
I started going to the bottom of the save box and do the Basic Down Loader and then save that to my desk top folder. I dont have a mac but it quit saving the regular way about a week ago for me also.
I'm the last person to be giving advice as I'm almost totally computer illiterate but this has happened to me in the past and I had to edit through 365 then retrieve the photo from 365 to put back into iPhoto.
i had a similar problem and deleted some of the photos i had, then resaved the ones i wanted and it worked. i don't know if this was the issue or not but have done it several other times and it worked again. sooo? hope it helps.
I think a lot of problems are related to memory issues. Sometimes I have to close down the internet browser and start again - presumably there are temporary files that can clog up memory and starting again deletes these. Its usually worse if there are also other apps open on the compter (a pc laptop).
I would make sure that I have the latest version of the browser or try another one, like Chrome. I used to have a macbook (now I have a new IMac) and at one point I had an older version of a browser and couldn't do certain things anymore, like run flash. I am usign Chrome on the IMac right now and I am happy with how fast and user friendly it it.
it seems to make a difference in how you access picnik. I've found it works best to open picnik and then upload your photo from there rather than going to picnik from 365 page via the link on the right. When you do it the first way you are saving your file somewhere on your computer, not in 365.
I like PS Elements a lot - and I combine it sometimes with Picnik and, even, iPhoto (which basically I hate, but actually think the straightening tool is more user friendly than the on e in PSE).
the only other thing i do is always go to tools, clear my cache files, then use an extra flash drive to save my files that i want because, as mentioned, too many and it won't save. don't know what that magic number is because i am working with something in the 6000 range and am trying to get organized! yeah, yipes. for me right now it is a balancing act. when it does it, i transfer a shit load from hard drive to flash and it all works again. i just had issues when picasa updated, lost some photos in my albums, but not with picnik.
