Has anyone taken their own? If so, any tips that made it easier? I took a couple test shots last night which went ok and it doesn't seem too tough, but I got a bit frustrated when it came time to get it to the correct sizing requirements.
We have AAA membership and it was worth the $8 to ensure the photos were correctly lit, posed, and trimmed to the correct size before sending them off.
They are totally set up to take passport photos and it's worth the price, IMO.
I took my own. Just stood in front of a white wall and used my remote to take the picture. Sized and cropped in photoshop. Just follow the requirements. Oh, and don't freak out when your birth certificate doesn't come back with the passport. They ship them separately for security reasons.
I took one the other night, or rather my wife did with my direction. I Photoshopped it a bit to fade the background to white and made a contact sheet in Word. Now I have 21 passport photos for the price of one sheet of photo paper (and ink). I wouldn't pay the prices they charge in the booths here again
I just did mine as well. White backdrop shot from the shoulders up, we used the natural light in my house. I photoshopped those circles under my eyes (hahaha!) and I received my passport a few days ago. All good!
@joesabino Or, in my daughter's case, lose the birth certificate somewhere between their office and her house. :) So now she has a stupid computer printout instead of a "real" birth certificate... and her father's name is Marilyn Ruth Wigen and her mother's name is Marilyn Ruth Wigen! My hub and I went to the passport office and did the whole thing in person so we would not have to chance losing anything.
@joesabino@bagpuss@akcespedes Thank you for sharing your experience. I'll probably give it a try again. Maybe I was just tired and getting frsutrated easily :)
