crystal balls

March 1st, 2012
hi
i'm seeing shots using crystal balls and i'd been wanting one as an ornament anyway so this could be a bonus, but is there a difference between one for photos and ornaments, is there anywhere particular to get one, are there grades of clarity

hope you can give me some advice as it could be a fab birthday present for me

I got mine at a little shop in downtown Sacramento for $10 for an 80mm size. I am not sure about different grades but I will say to use caution when there is direct sun since it is possible to burn yourself with one. Not that I have done that. (Or would admit having done anyway - wouldn't want to seem dumb in a public forum!) ;)

LOL I've only used it once! It is great though, very clear and a good size! I'll make a pact with myself to use it more this week!

@karlin I got mine at Evangeline's in Old Sac. They had them on display on the costume side of the store but I could not find them when I was there before so I just asked. They had to get one for me from upstairs. They offer several sizes so I asked for the 80mm.
