I'm considering buying a new camera. I've been doing some research and found this one from Panasonic Lumix. Does anyone here have any experience with this model? Do you have another suggestion for something in the same price range? Any feedback would be great. Thanks.
I have a Panasonic SLR, not this one because it wasn't out when I bought mine but it sounds great. It is a little difficult to buy lenses for it and expensive, so get as many lenses as you can afford in the original purchase (works out cheaper, but its the same with any SLR)
I have always had Lumixs and found them great, and this compact one sounds even better. I have 2 friends that are planning on buying this.
I have found out on here that there are adaptors to buy (cheap) to attach other lenses (canon, nikon) to the micro 4/3 system that Panasonic uses, Also I just bought an extension tube on ebay for my Panasonic to do macro (about $20), although it will all be on manual setting.
To summarize, I love the Panasonic for the price and most things that can be done on the EOS's and nikons can be done on this.
@hosehead I have just purchased a GH3 to replace one that was stolen last year. the last was great, but I wasn't taking many photos. I'll update on the one coming in three days. As moni @monika64 says, you can buy adapters to fit nikon and canon (and prob more) lenses. From that aspect I think the 4/3's are some of the most versatile camera's out there along with great video.
I have a DMC-FZ45 and I am really pleased with it.. if you look at my 365 you can see the pictures it can take. I have purchased an adapter and a macro lens which is brilliant all for less than £50. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend my camera so I imagine the G3 will be cool too :)
