Naming Conventions

I have a Nikon D5100 and every time I move photos from the memory card, the naming conventions reset. Kind of annoying cus I'm always cutting to the same folder, and the photos all end up having the same name.

I there a way to change this? My other camera just keeps on with the names even when I delete stuff.

Any ideas?

There should be a setting in the camera to fix this.

Try going into menu, then custom setting menu, then shooting/display, then turn file number sequence to on.
