Can you merge photos in Lightroom 4?

April 21st, 2012
I read the awesome post by @Andrew on how to clone photos. I'd like to have a crack at it. I use Lightroom 4, Picasa, PicMonkey & Pixlr-o-matic for my edits.

Does anyone know if there is a way of merging photos in LR4?

Cheers...Vorka.

@vorka I haven't messed around with GIMP too much but it is supposed to be very similar to PS and you should be able to use layers and layer masks in there....and it's free.

With this free software you are supposed to be able to merge images from LR or Aperture. I have not played with it. Good luck.

If you have a mac, Pixelmator is a CHEAP software that acts like photoshop where you can do merges etc. You could always do a 30 day free trial to play around too.

the standard pixlr editor allows you to layer, and then rub out the bits you dont want. Not as good as photoshop but it can be done.

there is a plug in for Lr called Perfect Layers, by OnOne Software, I have not tried it yet but it seems cool.

I've never used it but that's been recommended to me also. I don't think that it's free though.
On the other hand. wwww.pixlr.com is free and is capable of an awful lot.
It's not a patch on Photoshop but it will certainly allow you to experiment with cloning, layers etc.

Try Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro plug-in.

There is also a very inexpensive plug-in called LR Enfuse (donation ware) that works pretty well.
