Hi.. I took a team photo for a friends sons golf team. The coach wants the team name at the bottom. I figured out how to do that but HOW DO I CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE SCRIPT??? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it..
Here is the photo..
If you have Adobe Photoshop, an expensive bit of software, changing fonts, and colour, is easy. As Shelly asks; What software are you using to create the existing title?
@grahamenglisha and @beautifulthing I used Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3, but I have Adobe Photoshop CS4 also, as well as lightroom and OnOne Perfect Photosuite
I wasn't sure how you did the text in the first place, so I just cloned it out and added it new. It was quicker for me, someone else might have another suggestion. I couldn't/didn't exactly match the font you used but I got close.
I used Content-Aware Fill, though, which I know isn't in CS4, so your option to go this route (replacing and redoing) would be either the Clone tool or copying some of the 'clean' grass and replacing it over the words.
Again, this is just what I did - someone else may know a three-click fix to changing the color of that text.
Also - the flag was driving me crazy in terms of composition, so I Content-Awared that sucker out. I know next to nothing about golf, though, it might be important to leave it in there.
@beautifulthing Okay. I am going to try and recreate this.. Looks much better in Black.. and I didn't particularly like the flag but the coach was bent on having it .. It marks where the hole is.. Thank you so much for your help...
@cheribug I figured as much about the flag. :) One other thing - when you were doing your edits, did you save them on the original file? Could you just go back to that and 'start over' rather than having to go through cloning out the letters, etc.?
@cheribug Hmm...whichever one is the easiest for you! Out of the ones you listed, I use Photoshop. But you could use whichever one you feel the most comfortable with. Just make sure you keep an untouched copy of your original and you should be good to go.
@beautifulthing I did took a eyedropper of the collar color and flood filled the letters. Looks pretty good.. will try the photoshop program and see if I can do it from there. As long as I have an original I can screw up and learn . This is why I love this site. I truly do appreciate your help.
I don't know what you did to get the black; but the type spacing has changed. It was better in the first version because it had more of a heavy "Bulldog" feel to it. In the second version, although the colour has changed, for some reason, so has the letter spacing...
You could always clone over the grass in Picmonkey and then retype the test in. Just saying. And you're right @cheribug, the most important thing is to always save a new copy before you change things, even if you're proficient and not too worried about mucking up the original...it's just good practice. :-)
Like Shelly, that flag makes me want to kill myself, and the fact it takes the group shot out of the centre, but hey if the client wants it then doh!
looks like you nailed the lettering.
@cheribug
you don't need Picassa if you've got photoshop, you should have used select tool on each letter holding down shift then just changed the colour till you were happy, as for the centering if the client says do it this way do it. if they don't mind I'd trim it and clone out the flag for sure.
;)
@grahamenglisha Like I mentioned to Cheryl, I couldn't/didn't exactly match the font she used, but as I was only doing it for the purposes of working out the technique for her, it wasn't important.
@cheribug I think I'd try centering the type from left to right on the whole picture, not under the players. I think that might be throwing the composition off, especially since you have to live with the flag per your 'client's' request. The lettering looks good, although I'd maybe go with just a bit darker of a green. Those are just my own thoughts - I'm crazy particular about this kind of stuff. The most important thing is that you and your friend like it.
@chewyteeth@beautifulthing I will send him one with and one without the flag.. and let him choose. Personally I don't like the flag either.. and I will go with your recommendation of a tad darker green for the lettering Shelly and center the type on the whole photo.
