I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it! they've also changed the names of their file sizes and you can now upload directly to facebook or edit through facebook! it's fantastic :D
@jsw0109 I don't like the HDR on picmonkey even though I play with the setting on it a lot. I don't have photoshop but have always assumed it would give better qualitly/more natural HDR. Am I right?
@edie Picmonkey HDR isn't really HDR at all. (neither was Picnik). You need multiple images for true HDR. You can do it in Photoshop, but the results in Element are nowhere near as good (or easy) as using Photomatix. If you are interested in doing HDR, I highly recommend using Photomatix.... and avoid the Grunge setting in Photomatix like the plague.... its very rare that there is a use for that setting LOL but I see it on here ALOT
@sharonaddison it is WAY easier to do textures in Picmonkey... and if I want to do something with a muted, retro or vintage feel, the dusk setting in Picmonkey is wonderful (as long as I slide the fade up a bit). the ability to upload your own textures in Picmonkey is awesome.
@jsw0109 Thanks Jeff. I just googled photomatix. I love so many HDR shots I see and just hate what happens when I click the picmonkey button. (I knew it couldn't be as good but in picnik at least they called it "HDRish" or something) Don't get me wrong. I love picmonkey...it's my first and only processing experience and I'm having a lot of fun but I will check out photomatix for the HDR for sure.
@jsw0109 Grunge on Photomatix is not bad IF you adjust the colors.. WAY TOO loud if you ask me. But I absolutely love Photomatix and it is so easy to use!
@cheribug if you adjust the colors, you get something that looks more like the Painterly effect, so may as well just go with that preset and not have to work so much for it.
@jsw0109 There are two HDR effects in iPiccy, one is the same as pic monkey, and the other is an advanced mode, but is basically a one step click, that just takes a minute or so to do. I think you fav'd a shot of mine I processed it with...the tire swing. Anyway you should check it out, in most cases it is the same as pic monkey but has a few more advanced things you can do!
@jsw0109 I love the textures too... the ability to combine photos using them is great (just wish we could move the 'layers'
I use photomatix for hdr and drop everything back so it doesnt look too crazy.
