Found an old lens (pre digital) What can I do with it?

I found this old pre digital lens yesterday and I am wondering what I can do with it. On my Panasonic Lumix G10 the lens has a pk (pentax) fitting and I have a Panasonic micro 4/3 mount. I have ordered an adaptor on ebay, of course it wont read the settings on the camera but will I be able to use the manual settings on the actual lens to change the aperture and focus? what settings will I need to change on the camera? shutter speed and ISO?

Is this a macro lens? It doesn't say it is but it would be great if it was!

Set the camera to Aperture Priority, then adjust the aperture and focus as you wish on the lens itself - Micro 4/3 with vintage lenses in a whole world of fun! Enjoy!

When it comes to old equipment, I'm glad I stuck with Pentax. All older P-K lenses can be used with newer cameras. Even if you have a converter, don't get fooled into using old extenders (1.2x, 1.4x, 2.0x ...) or such like, though; that could damage your camera mount or adapter. I didn't know Carl Zeiss made P-K lenses; learned something new today, then! ;-)

@bankmann I'm sorry, I dont know what you mean by old extenders...is getting an adapter going to damage anything?

@monika64 Ah, no, a mount-to-mount adapter, like the one you're getting, is cool. I was thinking of adapters that extend the focal length; those can damage your equipment. Old manual extenders are different from electronic modern ones.

You're going to have fun with that! Excellent find... you might want to take it to a camera shop and talk to the owner, have them look it over, clean it out, look out for sand and mold, also help to make sure you get the right stuff so you don't short your camera.

@monika64 You'll have no problems, both Aperture and P- mode works as long as you've set shoot without lens to yes. These were was taken with an old Pentax lens and adapter on lumix GF-2

@primitiveprobe Oooh Thanks, they're lovely, Just months ago I didn't even know I could get such a thing as adapters, and here I am finding lenses around the house that I can use.

Thanks, @bankmann, and @binny @charlescellist for your advice I'm excited now!
