Changing the "Event" date in iPhoto

July 12th, 2012
I had some problems with the camera which caused the camera date to get mixed up. I've uploaded the pics to my computer and deleted them off the memory card. I'm trying to figure out if/how the iPhoto "Event" date can be corrected. I like having all the events listed chronologically but the 2008 date that my camera mistakenly recorded, can't be changed from what I've seen so far. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Found this:
Select all the pics in the Event (Command-a)
Flag Them
Then Events -> Create Event from Flagged Photos.

And this:
First make sure the photos (in the event, even though the event appears at the wrong date/time) have the correct dates & times, change them if need be using "Photos-Adjust date & time" or "Photos - batch change".
Once the dates for the individual photos are correct,
- select the photos you want to appear in the new & correct event,
- export them to a completely new/separate folder,
- go back to iphoto a import those same newly exported photos back into iPhoto.
They should now appear in their own event which appears in order at the correct time & date.

On the interenet. Just google "how to change camera date in iPhoto"

Thank you for this!! My old camera did this as well!! I ended up just writing in the event January 2011.. etc. But this would be nice to have them more organized!

in case anyone is wondering, the first half of the second suggestion by lynn worked like a charm. Just use photos-adjust date & time and after you do that for all the pics, the event pops into place where it should be. No need for the rest of the instructions about exporting and importing.
