Taking photo's at a Party

Hey Guys,
I booked my first photography gig, taking photos at a 21st party.

They party is at night time in a nightclub.
Does anyone have any tips for getting the most out of my photos?
Ive only just started using my camera in manual mode, its a Nikon d3100, so any tips on using that in low light would be really handy too!!!

Get an external flash. Well worth the investment.

@courtneylippiatt a paid gig is a serious thing, what lens do you have? Night time shooting requires fast lens ie f2.8 and below.

don't focous on anything in particuarlur, take pics mostly of the host, and see whats in the background
