I would like to know what "rules" to follow for taking pictures of the alphabet - you see them at every craft fair . . . you take black and white shots of the alphabet and then you use the pictures to spell names, etc.
I know that they have to be taken in portrait not landscape but is there a certain way to spot them? I just don't see the letters out there.
You just have to keep your eyes open and look beyond the obvious. I did two as Christmas presents last year. For a few letters that I couldn't find, I simply made them myself.
He made it harder for himself by having each object start with the letter that it depicted.
Mine was rubbish. I didn't do letters, but things beginning with...
Hi Juletee @juletee ! I did mine with actual letters which I found around - I made a wonky keyboard of them.
About the same time Elin @lluniau did her own alphabet, she did them in the same bluey shade from shapes she found around and I think she did a great job!
I think the best advice I can offer is to make each photo a square, that way you don't lose any of the edges and it keeps the letters even.
Enjoy and good luck!
-- @juletee,
i just used some of my rejected photos-instead of deleting 'em,i played around to make up something-i cropped, twisted 'em around,up and down--just 'little bit of crazy imagination...
have fun !!
Just put my numbers into a collage - I'll add them as I found them 'around' - I do think you start to see letters, numbers, shapes more as you go looking for them.
How cool! And how crazy as well, as at work today, I was noticing the letter "A" outside made by the corner of the building and the wall coming together. I didn't have my camera with me, so I planned to bring it with me tomorrow. Maybe this is my sign that I should go all out and try to hunt for the whole alphabet over the next few weeks :)
Here's the one I made for my granddaughter:
And here's the one I did for my mom:
