So.. Orbs... i'm sure these have been discussed on here before...
but i've found this site... http://www.denissmith.com.au/photo-gallery/ball-of-light/
and i need to learn... its it literally a led light on a string how are the orbs so perfect?! im flawed. i love them and i neeeeed to do some...
any tips and tricks that you can share before i attempt this?!
@skipt07 Champ! thanks HEAPS! thats everything i needed to know! i couldnt work out in my head how to stand insdie the orb to get it complete haha you dont... der! thanks!
Samantha, here are some I made. I have made better ones but not shared them on here. They are fairly easy to make. Just need to make sure the lights swing vertically and the spot you are swinging on stays stationary while you spin around it.
@cameronknowlton aren't they! set up or not they're stunning! LOL! @archaeofrog the mirrors a great idea! nicely done, thanks for sharing! :) @abhijit Thats right! i remember your 1st one hadn't seen the others though, love the cathedral one, the reflections on the ground look so unreal! i might have to mission into the city one night just to do this!!
Love them!
This is my one and only attempt at an orb. I went to a "Light Art" workshop, and the guys gave very good instructions. Place a small object on the ground at your feet, and make sure the light passes over this object as you slowly rotate.
I can't do these to save my life! ~ I have tried but I cannot for whatever reason move about the 'spot' without changing the angle of my arm or getting the chord wrapped around my hand ~ I spent so much time one evening trying to get one I got blisters on my fingers from the chord rubbing against my skin ~ LOL
