I got a Canon 600D for Christmas, and I'm just starting to get to grips with it. I've used it in both manual and auto focus, and also in manual and auto modes. I'm finding a number of images are coming out blurry.
@amyamoeba Fully auto mode is typically not your best option. That gives the camera complete control over all aspects of the exposure, and it always bases that on lighting, not subject. You want to maintain as much control over that as you possibly can.
You mention moving objects, but the exposure you need really depends on the direction in which they are moving. If they are moving side-to-side, then you'll need either an extremely fast shutter speed or you'll have to pan with the subject. Just how fast a shutter speed you need really depends on the the focal length of your lens and how close you are to the subject.
Can you post an example of a photo that's blurry given the subject you want to shoot? There are many types of blurred images, and we're all assuming it's motion blur. That may not really be the case!
Put it on TV mode, turn the dial until you see something like 1/1000 then fire away.
the only issue you will most likely have the auto focus set for all points and it might be focusing on a closer object and not the object you would like.
I would change the auto focus to use the center point and not all points.

Or select the sports preset on camera auto mode (the running guy icon). That should do.
