Iphone photography apps?

May 16th, 2014
I am getting an IPhone, and while I don't really "need" a smartphone, I am super excited because of the camera.
My question is: what are the best IPhone photo editing apps? I don't mind spending a few $$ if it is a great app.

I use the following

* Camera+ as a replacement for the basic apple phone app
* Pro HDR a great little app for HDR takes 2 photos and combines them (i use this most of all, again better than the inphone version)
* Snapseed as an editor,
* AutoStitch to produce panoramas from multiple images
* FiLMiC Pro for video, another superb app

Have used all the above (well except FiLMiC Pro) for photos on this project.

Hopes this helps

snapseed is fab, touch retouch is useful. think theyre the only 2 i really use. you can do some basic stuff just on the phone... you can get macro lenses for them which seem to work well but i havent tried them myself...

I have a number of apps (mostly free) that I use. I always try the free version first to see if I like it then I go with the paid version after that. I also purchased an Ollie Clip from Photojojo and a tripod. I don't use them much but I have found them both very useful. I must pull my phone out more. The other thing I purchased for my iPhone was a waterproof case. Great for the phone but useless for the camera. The Otterbox is a much better case for the camera but it is not waterproof...actually since I purchased the waterproof case for my phone I have used it less for photography. One other thing I find useful is the geotagging. I snap a pic of something I am photographing with my phone then I know exactly where I was...I do tend to wander off track a little when I'm out taking photos :) Happy smartphoning and shooting :)

Thanks for asking, I'm actually getting an iPhone too :)
So far I sometimes used an iPod touch. Some apps I can recommend are:
- PicLab for editing with text
- PicCollage for collages (obviously :D)
- Timelapse for short timelapse videos (not really photography but still a nice play)
- MarbleCam for pics which look like you used a crystal ball
- Photoblend for double eposures (kind of)
Hope I could help :)

I love using my iPhone, and I have lots of apps. I also have the Olloclip lens which is great for taking macro shots! My top ten apps are:
Snapseed The first app I go to for basic edits.
iColorama
PaintFX
Glaze
TangledFX
PhotoFunia For fun!
JixiPix This company has several great apps!
Superimpose A layering app.
Image Blender
Retouch
Have fun with your new iPhone! It takes great photos.

@paulty @archielogical @jaynspain @justaspark @sjodell @sjodell @deburahiru @dibzgreasley @sophiaz @nytewind

Thank you so much for your advice! Looks like snapseed Is a must, and i'll go down the list once I actually have the Iphone in hand.

I will look at the olloclip lens and other lenses too, but at this point I am more excited about carrying less photo stuff than more!

@k1w1I haven't even thought about the case, good point to bring it up! Not sure about geotagging - I prefer not to give these tracking companies all my data.....

@archielogical love to try the hdr app. I always think the pics look cool and I haven't invested in HDR software for my DSLR

I have an iPhone but would much rather use my camera for picture taking but these are useful! Thanks for asking - I never knew of any of these apps! I always used Aviary for basic editing.
