Thankyou for the link. I now know that my camera does not have blue tooth so sadly the app they offer ihas no compatability. Thank you for your kind words.
@pennystot I email photos to my mom and then download to her tablet and mine. Only way I know of. Gmail allows for large quantities to be sent at one time.
I copy from my SD card to my laptop and then share them to my phone via DropBox - (so helpful for when I want to edit the photos with apps that are on my phone).

Thankyou the problem is the laptop belongs to my husband and as it's in French I really struggle to manage this process, thankyou for taking the time to help .
@pennystot Hmmm I'd struggle too - is there an SD card reader you that you can connect to you tablet via a cable or aren't there any cable ports on your tablet? (Sorry don't have one so not sure if it has any...)
Before I had a camera with built in wifi, I used my RavPower FileHub to transfer pictures from an SD card to my iPad. I believe there is an android equivalent of their app. You plug the card in and connect the tablet to it via its own wifi. https://www.amazon.co.uk/RAVPower-FileHub-3000mAh-Internal-Battery/dp/B00AQUMZRA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480978867&sr=8-2
They are handy little gadgets too. I still use it as a battery backup to charge up my phone on long journeys without access to power. :)
Yay! Success! I've temporarily solved the problem by buying a micro SDCARD in a full size outer. Tis a bit fiddle but very cheap. Will save up for the powerhub! Thanks everyone.

Or, you could just get a dedicated reader: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/White-Micro-USB-OTG-to-USB-2-0-Adapter-SD-Micro-SD-Card-Reader-Writer-32GB-/131848286651?hash=item1eb2c531bb:g:d68AAOSwaB5XjYmy
Note that I haven't used any of this myself, but I would expect it to work just fine.
These sound just what I'm looking. Thank you :)

Wow that looks very useful if a bit technical! Will read the instructions carefully. Thankyou for your response
