Hi :) I'm looking to buy a good macro lens for my Nikon D3000, any recommendations? Thanks for the help :)

Nod
For NIkon, I only have 60 f2.8 macro. Great lens.

Me too, I have the Nikkor 60 f/2.8 (second hand). It's ideal for little objects, portraits, food, flowers...
But if you could afford - choose the 105mm f/2.8 - ideal for extreme close up.

I heard the 105mm f/2.8 is spectacular. I think I'm going to save up for that one.

I'm a Canon user but I'm sure Nikon has the same sort of thing that I use which is an extension tube in front of pretty well any lens - gives real close up ability without the cost of a macro lens (much as Ioved one when I had one years ago!).

I have a Nikon D5000 and just bought the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Di and I am THRILLED with it.

I have a D90 and use the Tamron 90mm SP Di 2.8 lens. Does a great job.

I have the 105mm f/2.8 and it's great. The only differences between the 60 and the 105 (aside from price) is the minimum focus distance (.6 ft for the 60, 1 ft for the 105) and, of course, the angle of view. The 105 gives a little more 'working distance' as I understand it, but I don't have access to the 60 to compare.

@trimley11 I have a lens and tube extension for a Nikon, so yes they do make them. However mine is probably 30 years old. I chose a Nikon DSLR because I was familiar with my SLR and I wanted to be able to use my manual lenses instead of buying all new ones for a new brand of camera.. long answer for a short question.

@sophiesproject sorry to cloud your thread with vaugly relevent comments. Best of luck in finding a new lens.
