Choices:Matrix, Spot, Center Weight

How do you meter? Any reason why you do it that way?

I just kinda guess, usually between Matrix, and Spot. Yesterday I discovered I don't really like Center weight.

I pretty much exclusively use spot focus, centre spot and focus on my object then reframe...

However on my phone I've found the matrix focus pretty great...

if it is a single person i usually use spot, but most of the time i use matrix and usually have pretty good luck, so i leave it alone so i don't screw it up. i really don't use center much at all.

I'm pretty the same way as Chris, if I KNOW what I want to focus on its spot, but 80% of the time, its on matrix.

ong.. so funny.. iwsa just looking up earlier today about all the different metering choices and laughed my head off ( at myself ) when i saw this post.. after doing ( or remembering ) what each different one does.. I find myself liking the spot being my favorite then matrix..
center weight .. eeehggg.. :(
but wierd thing.. it's always on matrix

I use almost all metering modes as it just depends on the lighting and subject I'm shooting. Spot and Partial probably get a bulk of the workload, but if it isn't a very high contrast scene or strange backlighting issues then evaluative/matrix work fine.

Nod
Only spot, and recomposed.

Matrix is good for making sure that the whole photo has "correct" exposure but it may not deliver the desired results.

I like spot focus best.
