I have attempted a fizzy water shot but I am not entirely happy with the result.
Here it is...
It's not truly awful or anything but it is not what I was going for & in my opinion it just looks like a rose in bubbles not really a fizz shot.
I don't know I just have an urge to try again but don't know what other items to try. I don't want to do oranges of blueberries, they are great but I want something fresh.
Wow, I think they are both great!!! I can see fizz in the first one! Great job. Do you need a Macro lens to do these shots? I tried it yesterday with my lil' boy's toy blender, but it wasn't anything to write home about.....
This was my attempt. I wanted to do something a bit different but didn't consider before I started that actually corks tend to float so it turned into something more complex than just taking a photo! I have a very simple point and shoot camera and just used the macro setting.
I had a ton of fun with the fruit, I want to do it again, I bought a lime and still have some blueberries (I like those colors together) I tried daisies yesterday and GAG, they turned out horrible. I was thinking maybe candy would be fun. already planning to do a candy cane next christmas, lol. I saw someone do a little heart in a champagne glass that was really pretty. Maybe even a photograph would be cool! I did a lime in a beer bottle, but that didn't turn out well either, the lighting was bad.
here is my fruit!
@kmstudioart It's just carbonated water, I forgot to get some while shopping so I tried it with lemonade and Marshmallows, LOL what a disaster that was!
Lemonade was too 'murky' and the damn marshmallows floated too high. ( I'm back to the drawing board!
@kmstudioart@cariadon Check out this thread, the first 20 or so comments are concerning this and some are from some accomplished photog's on here who have some amazing fizzy shots.
@pete21 LOL ahhh i tried soda water and jelly beans... that was a no go, made the water murky too... glad im not the only one who thought soda and sweets might be a good idea!!
@cariadon just a helper, I typed the screen name too when I first started commenting but if you click the the reply @ link on the top right of the comment it will add the user name in the reply box for you. That way the person will be notified that you that responded or mentioned them. I am really not trying to sharpshoot you, but silly people like me have different screen names from our user names and won't see it otherwise. You can also type all of it out if you want as long as it matches the name on the top right. I did it for quite a while before I figured it out, so I want to help.. hope you don't take offense
@sam_cr Thought it was a stroke of genius half way through my ABC of sweets. Kids liked the idea though as they ate marshmallows soaked in lemonade. LOL
I'm not letting this one go, one day I'll get my fizzy sweet shot - one day..........
@maceugenio hey! mine i used soda water... the 1st one is a paint brush... make sure u use room temp soda water (cold stuff makes for condensation on the glass which then makes it impossible to focus on the bubbles)... i used at 50mm with extension tubes and viola!! LOL! :) hth x
@sam_cr Tried a lollipop didn't really get the bubbles or fizz but that could be because I didn't "refresh" my seltzer. @maceugenio Mine was seltzer water, though I don't know what the difference is between soda water & seltzer is. I have Tonic water too but haven't tried that.
I used my 50mm with a macro filter.
@psychographer I know what you mean about the floating! I was laying on the floor holding my camera & trying to poke the flowers down in the glass. Ahh Duh I guess I could have put it on a table with a tripod & camera remote but that would have taken away the challenge LOL!
I am loving all the fizzy shots...so itching to try again. I have like 5 more bottles of fizzy water. Hmmmm what to try next...
@maceugenio Thanks! I just used sparkling water and some paper hearts in a glass. I was snapping away when the hearts started to slowly fall to the bottom of the glass. I did add some ice to slow them down a little.
I need fizzy skill tips. Here's my first attempt but I'm not pleased. Can't wait to try again. I'm using a 18-55mm lens but I couldn't get my camera to focus in close enough to get a really great shot. Took tons but this was one of the only ones that looked decent. Any ideas on how I can do better?
oh and if you check my project I also did some fruit but im happy with mine :)
here is my fruit!
heres a couple of mine...
(i must try it with some flowers or something, yours looks great!)
and these from my 2nd album...
Here is mine from Valentines Day
