I know many of us use DSLRs and other such cameras, but I also use my iPhone quite a bit. You might be interested in this cool little gadget that recently graduated from Kickstarter. It's called the Olloclip http://www.olloclip.com/ It's a wide angle, macro, and fish eye lens all in one that you clip on to your iPhone. It's expensive ($70) but looks really well made and apparently works well (see Engadget's review http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/14/olloclip-three-in-one-lens-for-iphone-4-review/). Anyway, I've no affiliation with the company, but I did just by an Olloclip :)
wow, I've just ordered something similar from photojojo.com Theirs was about $40 and it hasn't arrived yet, now I'm wondering if I should have got an Olloclip instead!
The cool thing about this lens is you don't have to glue anything on to your iPhone (I think the set Photojojo offers requires you to glue an attachment on the iPhone. This one clips on. You can't use it with a case, however.
@rich57 Yeah. You might look at Photojojo's FAQ on the lenses. You affix a little magnetic ring to the phone and the lenses stick on to that. If you have an iPhone 4, the magnetic ring covers the flash unless you do a hack. Here are the two relevant portions:
Will these lenses fit on my phone?
Sure! These lenses really work with most phones. If the area around your camera lens is relatively flat, and you can stick the little metal ring to it, our new camera phone lenses will work on your phone, no problem!
What about my super flashtastic iPhone 4?
Well, we tested the lens on an iPhone 4 and it works fine but not perfectly. The ring fits the phone, but it does cover the flash, and because of that super slick glass the stickiness of the ring isn't so super.
For best results on the iPhone 4, we recommend you use a case that covers the back of your phone, and stick the ring to the case. In addition, many of our customers have cut a notch in their ring with household scissors to expose the flash. A few minor hacks.
