As some other people mentioned in earlier discussions, "view large" never worked for me. I would get only a portion of the picture. I would try it from time to time though and it never worked. As I also seem to recall, I think the problem may have been limited to people using Macs. Anyway - it's working for me now, so if you had probs with it in the past, you may want to see if something's been changed (either in an update from Mac or a correction by Ross) - so that it works for you too. Some photos are so enhanced by being able to enlarge them.
I've always had problems with it too. I do remember a litle while ago though someone mentioning how to get to view it large, maybe pushing one of the F buttons on the keyboard. Can't remember now though. :(
@reba So you can scroll in magnify? Because I look at 365 on 4 different computers, and the scroll doesn't work on any of them. One is Windows 7, one Mac, 2 are XP.
@coolgirlsar - yeah, whatever that was, I tried it and it didn't help me. @5unflow3r - Yes, now I can scroll in magnify and I was never able to in the past. Sorry to have caused everyone all this upset, because I guess something changed for me - but not generally.
@reba LOL I think that the person who wrote the code for the scroll probably is using the same type of computer and operating system that you are using. So they test the code, it works on their system and so they assume that it works for everyone. That's my theory anyway, :-)
If you press F11 on a windows computer while the picture is large, then you will be able to see the whole thing without it cutting off the bottom. Hope that helps :)
@5unflow3r Oh, ok. So if it's a PC, you've tried the F11 at work? And you've tried it again at work since it started working for me (making me think something had changed? I'm thinking you are right - the code works for some but not for others and I've just been lucky to become one of the systems for which it works.
@reba Just tried it in Safari, and F11 worked better there, but in IE and Firefox, it's the same....doesn't show the whole image even in F11. That's here at work with my 17 inch monitor. Are you using Safari?
Im using xp, windows 7 and vista(i know is sad). They all work find for me. I also go back and forth between chrome, firefox and IE8. What i would suggest is to update whatever browser your using to the latest version.
I'm using a Mac with Safari. The magnifier button cuts the bottom off. F11 decreases the volume. However, holding the command down and tapping on the "=" sign, magnifies for me. Weird part is that I can scroll down but not across. [Note, you can make it smaller by tapping on the "-" instead of the "=" sign.]
It does it for me too and i always supposed it had to do with the size of the image or maybe even how it was downloaded/saved after editing ? In looking thru different photos the ones in whose exif info you can read all the camera settings, those ones were cut off whereas the ones where the exif info only shows the image size, those photos i am able to see all of the shot. Wonder if saving for web option will fix that. Going to go experiment with that now........
It has always worked really well for me. But recently I only see the same size as the photo on the main (un-enlarged) page. I have always used Firefox. Suddenly it does not work. I note from doing an experiment this evening that Internet Explorer and Chrome don't work for me either. So this does not seem to be just a browser problem.
My problem has been that when i clicked on the magnifying glass i got a teeny picture!
Every image i uploaded was 1000 pixels wide which on any other website i put it was.... well... 1000px wide when viewed at full size but on this website came out teeny!
I am now uploading 4000 pixel wide files (about 3.6MB file size) in size and now when i click the magnifying glass i get a decent picture size!
Hope that helps if you were having the same problem.
