Dealing with a Clunky Lightroom

October 13th, 2011
All I want to do is make a little crop in Lightroom and save the new image for upload to 365. My workflow involves downloading to lightroom, visually choosing the best shots, exporting trios of AEB shots to Photomatix, importing back to Lightroom. Sometimes, I may want to crop or alter the axis of the hdr slightly in Lightroom. How can one use Lightroom in this manner and then be able to see the changed photo for upload? I understand that the purpose of Lightroom is for managing images and that PS is for manipulating images [I do not have Photoshop]. Why are these developing functions even there in LR if it does not want you to save any changes? A virtual copy is not seen by 365 for upload. Yes, I know one can upload, then use Picnik for this purpose, but when I do this, the file size is dramatically reduced with just a minor change like sharpening [without even a crop], so the program here appears to be like using a chain saw to make a picture frame smaller. Can one use the functions to develop [process] an image in Lightroom, as I have expressed, or is it a lost cause?

I'm not 100 percent sure what you are getting at, but if you want to save the image in Lightroom then its' File ----> Export

Not. You can export back to your library but it does not create a new image that can be seen by 365.

@morrisroos Um, Yes. This image was imported to Lightroom, developed and then exported as a JPEG and uploaded to 365

@jasehoad Thanks, Jase. I hold the dumdum award for the day. I had the box checked to create in a separate folder, so I could not find it when browsing. I appreciate your help. Have a great day.
