This was the 'breakfast warrior' giving my grandson a high five. I think a plain background is far more effective than breakfast tables, chairs and people!

It really depends on what you want out of your photos. Yours are great without any touching up. But sometimes it can be really nice to make them lighter, or darker, add contrast, etc Photoshop is such a powerful tool (the only one I am familiar with) and it can be a lot of fun. Easy to learn too - some great tutorials on-line, magazines, classes, etc

I can just about crop, resize and touch up spots that appeared when my old 35mm transparencies were loaded on to photo-CDs.
