Cows in Pushkar

Cows everywhere of course, but it was still very intriguing to see them wandering around as if they owned the place - and in family groups like this! Not something you see in New Zealand. These were wandering down the dry river bed. I understand exceptionally dry as the monsoon didn't really happen last year.
Beautiful capture. They do not seem to be very well fed.

Lovely shot, they are everywhere, in India I learned to always look where you are putting your feet!

They look a little on the skinny side bless them :-)

You have certainly caught their attention. I guess they are very used to people. They do look like they could do with a bit more food.

Looks like they are starving

What an unusual sight to happen on. The poor animals look fairly hungry.

Really scrawny, like most you see in India

@sangwann We saw lots of skinny, scrawny, rangy looking animals, including cows, goats, dogs and pigs!
@jodies So agree - I did put my foot in a lovely big cow pat at one point!!
@paul10 Haha yes, certainly skinny! I like that you are blessing the Holy cows!!
@robz Most of the time they completely ignore people - unless one gets in their way of course!
@jgpittenger There certainly wasn't much grass around for them! Apparently the monsoon didn't really arrive last year!
@taffy Not really unusual for India Taffy, but definitely unusual in some countries!
@777margo They certainly were, and yes that was not unusual!

what unusual looking cattle...and they do look skinny...I guess drought affects their food supplies.
