Last light

After a full days work unpacking boxes, carrying furniture cleaning, making beds, organising electrician, builder, painter, hanging up pictures ..... This was taken standing on the verandah. The last light of the day.
Don't tell me you see this from your front door?? You would never move! How wonderful! fav

@maggiemae This is from the front door - and one of the reasons why I love to visit Opua. We had an old friend who often stayed here. He told us that he loved to sit on the verandah. He said "sometimes I sit and think - and sometimes I just sit".

@dawnee Thanks :-)
@yorkshirekiwi Yes the pohutukawas are flowering - they are beautiful.
@jerome @novab @andifree @eudora @jodies @merrelyn It is a beautiful place - so when the sun is setting and the seat is smooth, it can't fail but be gorgeous!!
@graemestevens Haha - if you want a macabre story to go with it, the land opposite is Okiato Point. The house on the end of this peninsula was built by Alexander Sinclair - 'Mr Big' who was in cahoots with 'Mr Asia' - drug barons in the 1970's. Mr Big beheaded Mr Asia, was caught, then died in prison in England, so he never got his house finished. There is a tunnel from the bottom of a wardrobe down to the water - escape hatch I guess!
