Starfish

I was intrigued to see this colourful starfish at Back Beach today. I googled to identify it and found the following reference:

"One of the hardiest starfish is the reef star, or pātangaroa, which flourishes on the exposed west coasts of both main islands."

@islambad Haha - if someone had asked me how many arms does a starfish have, I would have said 5! I am surprised too, but apparently although usually having 5, they can have 10, 20 or even 40 arms!! Crazy huh!! Our friend here has 12!
