High Key Portrait

My get pushed challenge from Ali P @alinz is to do a high key shot. Today was my last of three lessons on studio lighting, so my daughter came along as my model. This shot was taken with the guidance of my instructor. Doris, the mannequin, is in the shot because we were exploring how light fall-off could be used to minimize the difference between lighter and darker skin tones, as Doris tended to become a spotlight in comparison to Allyson, the real girl, if Doris was placed closest to the key light. The lessons were literally "enlightening" learning to solve problems with light. I always enjoy playing with photos in post, but this one is sooc. The instructor demonstrated getting it right in camera and minimizing post-processing work. He even made my very self-critical daughter happy with some shots just with light and zero editing. I know...Doris is creepy!
Well done.
